In Indiana fishing tournaments on public waters can only be regulated by the Department of Natural Resources. A county or city park department (or another local entity...such as a conservancy district) might place restrictions on the use of an access site, including restrictions pertaining to fishing tournaments. It is advisable to check with the owner/operator of the launch facility before planning your event to see what regulations apply.

Indiana Elks Members,
I hope each and every one of the Indiana Elks Association members are doing well. To be standing before you and getting ready to serve this great organization as your state president is very humbling. Nicole and I are very excited for our upcoming year and getting to spend more time with the great elks of this state. As we have made this journey together we are excited to visit with you and learn of all the great work that elks across this state do.
We are in a time in history that many of us have never seen. It is one of the most important times in many of our lives. Nicole and I are here to help in any way we possibly can. We do not know what the future holds, but I know that if we stick together we can make it through. I truly believe that if we take each other’s hand, together we can do this. Our slogan this year is “Hand in Hand Indiana Elks We Can”.
This year Nicole and I will be focusing on attending lodge meetings as well as events across Indiana. I challenge each and every one of you to attend lodge meetings where your voice can be heard the loudest. I ask that when you attend a lodge meeting that you ask lots of questions and find out what your lodge is doing in your community. If you hear the phrase “let’s do whatever we did last year” in a meeting, please stop and ask yourself, “Is that really what we want to be remembered for?” Last year is last year, lets focus on what our community needs today and what we can do to make our lodge, communities and state association the best it can be for the future.
Nicole and I have chosen to support Cancer Research and Suicide Prevention throughout our year as Indiana’s State President and First Lady. As we travel through the 20-21 year, any money we raise will be split between these two great causes. We urge you to join us in helping support these two great needs in our state. Indiana Elks, Nicole and I are honored to serve this great state to the best of our ability. We will see you real soon at your lodge.
“Hand in Hand Indiana Elks We Can”
