Ameristar Blackhawk Poker Tournament Schedule

While the amenities our customers have come to know and love may be limited, for the time being, the ability to safely welcome our team members and guests remain our top priority. With this in mind, we have been working closely with the Governor's office, Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission, and Gilpin County public health officials to implement comprehensive health and safety protocols. Our team members are trained on these procedures and our guests will see reminder signage about them throughout the property. These new protocols include, but are not limited to, the following:

Social Distancing

We will limit capacity on our gaming floor in accordance to state guidelines.
Floor decals and signage is installed to strictly enforce social distancing guidelines in areas where lines typically form.
The number of slot machines available will be limited.
Table games are not offered at this time.
Live music, entertainment, convention, and banquet services will remain suspended.
There will be no large drawings, tournaments, or special events.
Restaurant offerings will be limited and available from Fireside Kitchen (open daily), Timberline Steakhouse (Thursday – Sunday), Waypost Deli (open daily), the Asian Station in Centennial Buffet (Friday & Saturday) and Starbucks.
Club 38 is open (Thursday - Sunday).
Valet is closed.
The Gift Shop is closed.
The hotel is open with limited capacity.
ara Spa is open and offers massage and facial services.

Health & Safety

Team members and vendors are required to wear masks and undergo a health screening twice each day, including temperature checks.
Guests are required to wear a mask and will undergo and complete a health screening each day, including temperature checks, prior to entering the casino.
Slot machines are thoroughly and regularly cleaned throughout the day.
Sanitizer stations are installed on the casino floor and are readily available throughout the facility.

The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) has confirmed dates for many of their stops in 2020, which marks their 11th season. More stops are expected to be added to the schedule, and PokerNews is slated to offer live updates from nearly all events.

MSPT Heads to Colorado

Season 11 will kick off January 15-19 with a $360 buy-in, $150K GTD Regional Event at Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado. Situated about an hour west of Denver in a scenic mountain gully, the stop will play host to two trophy events and five Nightly $135 Deep Stack tournaments.

Last April, Aaron Frei won his first MSPT trophy after topping a 778-entry field to win the first $360 MSPT Golden Gates Regional, and amazingly he returned in November to go back-to-back by defending his title in a 915-entry field to win the second $360 MSPT Golden Gates Regional Event of Season 10 after a four-way chop, earning $36,607.

The upcoming $360 Regional Event will feature four starting flights at Noon each day starting Wednesday, January 15 through Saturday, January 18. The surviving players from those flights will then return on Sunday, January 19 to play down to a winner.

The MSPT is slated to return to Golden Gates from April 13-19, during which time they’ll host a $1,100 buy-in Main Event. Visit msptpoker.com for more details.

MSPT Cleveland Poker Open January 16-19

The first Main Event of the MSPT Season 11 is the $1,110 buy-in, $300K GTD Cleveland Poker Open at JACK Cleveland Casino. PokerNews will be there to live report that tournament.

The 2020 MSPT Cleveland Poker Open – a 21 or older event – will take place January 16-19 and will be preceded by a series of $70, $145 and $265 satellites where every single satellite boasts a 10-seat guarantee. The stop will mark the MSPT’s 164th Main Event and the fourth ever at JACK Cleveland Casino.

In 2018, the inaugural MSPT Cleveland Poker Open attracted 581 entrants and saw Abdul “Dulie” Amer capture the title and $118,350 first-place prize.

The MSPT Season 10 Cleveland Poker Open last January drew 725 entries creating a $703,250 total prize pool, which made it by far the largest major poker tournament ($1K+ buy-in) in Cleveland’s history, breaking the MSPT's own record from the previous year. In the end, it was Sean Munjal who navigated the field to take down a $140,654 top prize.
